Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The latest action-packed title that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for celebrating violence and mayhem with equal excitement, all while presenting gripping, ideologically themed stories. No wonder then that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two visionaries whose creations have embodied all of those qualities.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also parallel the video games' style by featuring a fresh setting and cast of characters in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX partners constantly supports me with their steady trust and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style program. Each game is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always examining the core of humanity through this multifaceted and chaotic viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to partner with Rob and present our mutual bold, visionary sensibility to the screen.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
