The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the knell for the green team. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a platform few have heard of. Platform-specific outlets began covering about PlayStation unprecedentedly. Last year proved to be complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. However, judging purely by the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft remains determined to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its flagship service.

The Current Inclusions

A pair of titles you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

On Jan. 13, the subscription service will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that deviates from conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of horror and action."

Compelling Indie Titles

Yet, the less-hyped additions arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and it merits a playthrough regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.

This UK-developed survival title from last year may draw you in remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription in the first place. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. There's a good mixture of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that lacked the recognition they warranted upon launch — rendering them excellent choices to find a new audience on Game Pass.

Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
