Trump Says 'Largely, Parties Are Aligned' on Following Steps of Peace Deal in Gaza

President Trump has stated that "largely, parties are aligned" on how the subsequent phases of the Gaza ceasefire plan will proceed, though he conceded that "some of the details … will be resolved."

"They're gathering them at present," Trump stated, speaking about the remaining hostages in the Gaza Strip. "They're in some quite harsh situations."

He, who has been praised by the group and many in Israel for his involvement in brokering a truce agreement, remarked he believes the deal will "remain in place" because "both sides are tired of the conflict."

Forthcoming Meeting on Gaza Issue

Meanwhile, he plans to bring together international leaders for a high-level meeting on the Gaza situation during his travel to the North African nation soon. Attendees slated to participate are officials from the European nation, France, the Britain, Italy, the State of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Indonesia.

Based on information, PM Netanyahu will be absent.

President's Schedule

Trump confirmed that he would engage with a "many leaders" in Cairo on Monday to discuss the direction of Gaza. It has been reported that he will also go to the State of Israel, where he will address the legislative body.

Significant Events

  • Many of Palestinians made their way to the largely ruined northern Gaza Strip on last Friday as a ceasefire mediated by the US took hold. Those still 48 hostages—some 20 of them thought to be surviving—will be released by the start of the week.
  • Uncertainties persist over leadership in Gaza as Israel's military retreat step by step and if the group will give up weapons, as called for in the proposed deal. PM Netanyahu, who unilaterally ended a truce in March, hinted that Israel might resume its operations if they does not give up its military assets.
  • The United Nations was granted permission by Israeli authorities to commence delivering expanded humanitarian assistance into Gaza from the weekend. This assistance will involve 170,000 metric tons that have been stored in neighboring countries such as Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt as aid workers were waiting for permission from Israeli forces to recommence their operations.
  • An official StĂ©phane Dujarric reported to journalists on last Friday that energy supplies, healthcare materials, and vital resources have commenced entering through the crossing point. Representatives want authorities to allow access through additional entry points and ensure protected transit for aid workers and civilians who are returning to parts of Gaza that were experiencing severe attacks up until lately.
  • The leader Joseph Aoun censured Israel on last Saturday for carrying out raids during the night on civilian facilities that the ministry said caused one fatality. "Once again, the region has been the object of a egregious attack by Israel against non-military facilities—without justification or rationale," he stated.
  • The government disclosed a roster of the Palestinian detainees that it plans to release as under the truce deal made with the group. Of the 250 individuals, a group of 15 will be released in East Jerusalem, 100 to the West Bank, and one hundred thirty-five will be sent abroad. Originally, when the organization's delegates presented a list of suggested inmates to be freed to mediators in the Arab Republic, they demanded the release of well-known Palestinian leaders such as the activist. However, Netanyahu's office stated it refuses to let go him.
